The Nova Rock Festival 2025, held annually in Nickelsdorf, Austria, near the borders of Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia, is one of the biggest and most complex projects of our season. This year, we again provided complete drinking and wastewater management — from extensive infrastructure to detailed monitoring.
Challenge #1: Single Water Source, Kilometers of Pipelines
The entire festival area — including production, catering, main stage, and remote campsites — is supplied from a single water source. A key task was to build a reliable network of over 12 kilometers of piping capable of supplying even the most remote parts of the site.
Special attention was given to proper system dimensioning and ensuring adequate water pressure so that facilities such as showers in distant campsites operate without issues. Thanks to thorough technical design and field testing, we achieved stable and flawless operation.
Challenge #2: Protected Water Zone and Strict Regulations
The festival is located in a protected water zone, requiring extremely safe and environmentally friendly wastewater management. Any leakage of wastewater here would have severe environmental consequences — the entire system design had to reflect this.
We therefore used our proven containment bladders with a total capacity of 800,000 liters, serving as safe temporary storage for wastewater. The wastewater was subsequently transported by tankers to wastewater treatment plants, fully complying with all legislative and ecological standards.
Over 3 Weeks On-Site, Months of Preparation
The on-site implementation took our team more than three and a half weeks. It was preceded by three months of intensive preparation, planning, communication with organizers, and project design. Thanks to thorough preparation and experience from previous years, the entire implementation proceeded smoothly, without complications, and with maximum safety focus.
Thank You for Your Trust
Nova Rock is more than just another festival for us. It’s a project where technical precision meets respect for nature and maximum reliability for tens of thousands of visitors.
We thank the organizers for their continued trust and look forward to the next edition!
